EFM and L&C Carbon announce strategic partnership to address US forest carbon market
EFM Investments & Advisory LLC (EFM) and L&C Carbon are excited to announce the launch of a long-term, strategic partnership to develop and manage carbon projects on U.S. forestland. L&C’s founder David Ford will be working with EFM to provide the dedicated capacity necessary to develop high-quality carbon projects across EFM’s portfolio. David’s leadership and technical expertise will support continued innovation and policy development at both firms and continue to raise the bar for the forest carbon sector. EFM’s investment platform and portfolio of over 150,000 acres in the Western U.S. will allow both firms to learn and explore new opportunities in biochar markets, reforestation, and improved forest management among other natural climate solutions.
This strategic partnership is the culmination of an existing 2 year working relationship that has resulted in the successful implementation of one of the first ACR IFM projects in the state of California that recently issued over 100,000 credits in its first reporting period.
“We could not be more pleased with this closer strategic alignment between our firms” said CEO, Bettina von Hagen, “David’s depth of experience comes at a time when talent is at a premium in the carbon sector. We are convinced that strategic partnerships like this one are the key to continued growth and innovation”.
“A partnership with EFM is a great fit for us because our values align and we have a shared vision about ways to manage forests that contribute to our economy, mitigate climate change, and benefit people through healthy and resilient forests” said David Ford, L&C Carbon’s CEO. “I look forward to expanding our collaborative work with a women-led management team who brings new and creative thinking to solve the challenges facing our forests.”
